Ratha Yatra is the biggest public event in Puri's ritual calendar and one of India's most famous pilgrimage spectacles. The deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra leave the Jagannath Temple on huge chariots and travel along the Grand Road toward Gundicha Temple, drawing vast crowds. It is powerful but logistically demanding, so visitors should treat it as a serious pilgrimage crowd environment with heat, security, traffic controls, and limited movement.
