Hampta Pass is a favorite first high-pass trek in Himachal because it compresses a dramatic landscape shift into a short route. Trekkers move from forested Kullu and Manali-side valleys into alpine camps, glacial streams, and the stark Lahaul side near the pass. It is not technically difficult in normal conditions, but weather, stream crossings, and rapid altitude gain mean the route still needs proper gear and guide support.
